Journeying Through Challenges Together

In the emails and comments I receive, I often notice that many of you are going through struggles.

It’s common to place blame on external factors like a challenging life, being born into the wrong family or country, or feeling disliked by others.

However, it’s essential to remember that the roots of our struggles often begin within us. Traumatic experiences can shape our beliefs about ourselves and our understanding of God. These limiting beliefs can hold us back from experiencing the fullness of life and the abundant blessings that God has in store for us.

God’s Invitation

BUT…

It’s time to LET GO OF LIMITATIONS and STEP INTO THE ABUNDANT LIFE God has in store for you!

This invitation is extended to everyone, and you are not excluded.

Every child of God is called to live more abundantly because Jesus came to give us abundant life.

You have the power to experience limitless possibilities in your life, no matter what!

If we want to experience this incredible transformation, it all starts with having the right belief system. By embracing a mindset grounded in faith and divine guidance, we open the door to positive change and limitless opportunities.

Sad to say this, but most believers or Christians are living way below their capacity.

Why?

It is because of our mindsets.

What you believe about God, yourself, and others matters.

What are Limiting Beliefs?

Limiting beliefs are wrong thought patterns about ourselves, our surroundings, God, and others. Our family backgrounds, society, experiences, and things we have been taught determine these thought patterns.

Some of us have been raised in environments where we’ve been made to believe certain things that limit us from showing up as our true selves. We have grown up believing a certain way about God, money, education, work, and people, and some beliefs are inaccurate.

‣ Example of Liming Belief

We’ve all come across the statement that money is the root of all evil, right? It’s a classic example of a limiting belief. But let’s take a moment to question this notion. Is money truly the bad guy here?

I’m not saying that money doesn’t have its pitfalls. The love of money can indeed lead to some trouble. But let’s not blame the cash itself; it’s innocent! It’s all about how we handle it, my friend.

Money is neither good nor evil—it’s what we do with it that matters.

Money can be a force for positive change, empowering us to support ourselves and others, chase our dreams, and even make a difference in the world.

But some people live in abject poverty because of that wrong mindset, which they probably got from their parents or society.

Limiting Beliefs Paralyze Us

For us, children of God, it’s important to recognize that limiting beliefs can paralyze us from advancing. When we allow negative thoughts and doubts to take hold, they can hinder our faith and prevent us from living out God’s purpose for our lives.

Like the children of Israel, we will find ourselves going around the same mountain because of our wrong thought patterns. Instead of seeing the milk and honey, we shall only see hardship which will cause us to waste time complaining instead of rejoicing about the new things God is doing.

‣ Breaking Belief Barriers

But life doesn’t have to be that way. You don’t have to keep cycling around that same issue year after year and be held back by your doubts and fears.

It is time for you to possess what Jesus has freely given you.

IT STARTS IN THE MIND!

‣ Our Thoughts Have a Huge Impact

You may think that the enemy is causing a delay in your life or that God is the one behind the delay when your thought pattern is blocking you from accessing the promises of God.

The verse from Proverbs 23:7 is a real eye-opener! This simple yet powerful verse reminds us that our thoughts have a huge impact on shaping who we become.

Our thoughts are powerful. When we choose to focus on positive and uplifting thoughts, we open ourselves up to endless possibilities and growth. We shape a better version of ourselves and welcome a brighter future with open arms!

Our thoughts and mental patterns can change.

How?

We become whole by renewing our minds. The Bible is our standard when it comes to mind transformation.

The Bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). So we are supposed to make it a daily habit to listen to the word of God because in doing so that we can overcome limiting beliefs.

Step-by-step Process on How to Change Limiting Beliefs God’s Way

1. Identify and Assess your Limiting Belief

If you think you’re not good enough, here’s a friendly suggestion: grab a pen and write down that limiting belief. Yes, put it on paper: I am not good enough.

Now, take a moment to reflect and assess the accuracy of this belief. Ask yourself, where did it come from? Did someone in your past make you feel this way? What made you believe you’re not good enough? It’s essential to identify the source.

Next, consider what God says about you. Dive into His truth, and His promises, and discover the amazing identity He has bestowed upon you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, deeply loved, and precious in His sight.

Don’t allow previous experiences or hurtful words to determine your worth. Instead, accept the truth of who you are in God’s eyes and allow His love and kindness to give you the confidence to conquer any uncertainty about yourself.

2. Renew your Mind

Take some time to look for three to five Bible verses that speak directly about who you are in Christ. These verses are like precious gems that reveal your true identity and worth.

Once you’ve found these verses, let their words sink deep into your heart. Read them slowly, meditate on them, and let their truth shape your perspective. Ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate their meaning for you, allowing His guidance to reveal the profound significance of these words in your life.

As you start to view yourself the way God sees you, something truly beautiful will happen within you. Open your heart to the truth in these verses and allow them to be your guiding light, helping you recognize your worth and discover your purpose in Christ.

Remember, in Christ, you can live a life of purpose and fulfillment!

3. Forgive

As we have already shared, most of our limiting beliefs stem from things we were told by our parents, neighbors, teachers, and people around us. For some of us, our limiting beliefs are a result of abuse.

Remember, forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting, but it sets you free to create a future filled with peace and joy.

To fully welcome the new season God has for us, it’s important to forgive those who have caused us pain or led us astray in the past, even though it can be challenging. Forgiveness is like a special key that opens the way for incredible blessings from God in our lives. When we release our resentments, it brings healing and paves the path to a future full of hope and joy.

Let go of the past and start a new life.

4. Be Intentional with your Thoughts

Philippians 4:8 says to think about true, lovely, noble, and praiseworthy things. This means we need to be intentional about what we think about in our day-to-day life.

Someone said you cannot stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can stop it from building a nest on your head. How does this apply to us today?

We cannot stop evil, unwanted, or negative thoughts from entering our minds, but we have the power to choose how we respond to them.

Your thoughts hold incredible power. Be intentional with them, choosing positivity and embracing possibility.

No matter how vigilant we are, the enemy will always inject wrong thoughts into our mind.

But don’t worry, there’s a way to combat this. By staying rooted in God’s truth, being mindful of what fills our minds, and intentionally focusing on positive and uplifting thoughts, we can push back against those negative influences.

You have the ability to decide what you focus on and welcome thoughts that reflect God’s kindness and love.

When a negative thought pops into your mind, you can ignore or reject it.

5. Be Patient with Yourself

Changing limiting beliefs is a process. You cannot do it in one sitting. Be willing to show yourself grace, especially in the first few months.

Don’t rush through, and do not also think that things will happen magically.

You need to put in the work of studying the Bible, praying, and forgiving yourself and others. Your mind may be under intense attack when you start. You may struggle to believe the great things God says about you but do not give up before you receive the breakthrough.

6. Guard your Gates

Your ears and eyes are gates to your soul, so it’s crucial to guard them.

As you go through this journey, be careful about what you listen to or watch. Spending your mornings in the Bible, but the rest of the day watching or listening to profanity is pointless. It can hinder your progress. Instead of progressing, you will struggle so much because of the mixed thoughts running through your mind all day.

Remember, my friend, to guard your gates with care and choose what enters your ears and eyes wisely. Surround yourself with positivity and uplifting influences throughout the day. This simple act can make a world of difference, bringing clarity, peace, and a mind open to endless possibilities on your incredible journey of personal growth.

Our thoughts reflect what’s happening in our hearts. It’s important to be cautious about what we allow our minds to dwell on.

Let’s make sure our thoughts align with God’s truth about us and seek to align our thinking with His loving and uplifting words. Let’s choose content that uplifts and inspires, helping us grow closer to God and live out His beautiful plans for our lives.

Overcoming limiting beliefs can seem daunting initially, but it doesn’t mean we cannot overcome them. We have the mind of Christ, and as such, we can conquer all the lies we have believed about ourselves.
