See Yourself Blessed in Christ

Faith Connect Heaven to Earth Bridge

Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ”.

I love this verse, don’t you? Our Father has blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing. What a great promise! It does not say that He might bless us. It does not say, He will think about to bless us or not. It does not say, somewhere in the future we will be blessed. It is already done. God has already blessed you in Christ, He has already provided. “But why do I not see it?”, you might ask. Because everything you will ever need has been provided in the spiritual realm first. So, how can a spiritual blessing be manifested here in the physical world?

What is ‘Blessing’?

You are truly blessed if you are a true child of God! This is basic and simple! But then what does the word “blessing” mean? Does it mean to have physical things? Does it mean to be materially prosperous? Does it mean to have many houses, many cars and the ‘goodies’ of life?

Blessing, or to be blessed, in the Bible, means to be imparted by God with divine abilities and spiritual resources!

The first time God “blessed” Man is recorded in the Bible, and here it goes; Genesis 1:27,28 “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Note that God did not give Man anything physical or material when He blessed him, rather He “pronounced” His blessing on Man, because a blessing is purely spiritual. Sink that in! Blessing is purely spiritual but has effects in the physical world!

The ancient Hebrews understood the true meaning of blessing, and that’s why the Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 1:3 that blessing is spiritual! For instance, when the patriarch, Isaac, wanted to “bless” his son, he didn’t give him any physical or material thing; no house or car or i-phone was given to him, rather it was a prophetic pronouncement he made over his son! Genesis 27:27,28. “And he came near and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his clothing, and blessed him and said: Surely, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field which the Lord has blessed. Therefore may God give you of the dew of heaven, of the fatness of the earth,  and plenty of grain and wine.” Did you notice he didn’t give him anything physical or material because the ancients understood the true meaning of blessing?

Genesis 28:1,3-5 “Then Isaac called Jacob and blessed him, and charged him and said to him: You shall not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan… May God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may be an assembly of peoples; and give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and your descendants with you, that you may inherit the land in which you are a stranger, which God gave to Abraham. So Isaac sent Jacob away, and he went to Padam Aram, to Laban the son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, the mother of Jacob and Esau.”

You have to understand biblical matters from its root and beginning. The book of Genesis (which is the “book of beginnings”) has explained what true blessing means.

Physical or Spiritual Blessings?

God has already given you “all things that pertain to life and godliness” (See 2 Peter 1:3) when He “blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (See Ephesians 1:3). You wonder why God didn’t just make the blessing physical things, why He has to make it spiritual?

One very good reason I can tell you is that God in His infinite wisdom and goodness knows very well that physical resources are limited and can be exhausted, depleted, damaged, broken, lost or stolen, especially by external forces or persons, but spiritual blessings are unlimited, inexhaustible and intact in Christ Jesus, and the only force or person who can stop you from maximizing these spiritual blessings is YOU!

All you need in this life to fulfill destiny has been made available by God, whatever it is! Healing for your body, financial stability and prosperity, joy, wisdom and intelligence for your academics and career, favor with God for gainful employment, and so much more! God’s spiritual blessings and resources are more vast than all your needs!

See yourself, first spiritually, then mentally and physically blessed

Fear is the Mind Killer Written on the Wall

Numbers 13:33 “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”

From this verse, we learn that the physical realm does not always reflect what’s true in the spiritual realm. 10 spies looked through physical lenses and saw themselves being defeated by giants, 2 spies looked through spiritual lenses and saw giants being defeated by them.

You must first “see” the things God has made available to you before you can experience them. You should pray right now, asking the Lord to open your eyes to really see Him and all He has already accomplished on your behalf! For instance, Jesus conquered satan and his counterfeit kingdom, but until your spiritual eyes and understanding are opened to “see” it, you’ll never experience victory over everything satan throws your way.

Authority over satan, unclean spirits, sicknesses and diseases, negative circumstances of life is a spiritual blessing. Favour is a spiritual blessing. Wisdom and understanding are spiritual blessings. Power is a spiritual blessing. Victory is a spiritual blessing and is already yours in Christ. But first things first you must ”see” them, acknowledge them, and then begin to experience the effects in the physical world!

2 Corinthians 4:18 “while we do not look at the things are seen (physical things, circumstances, situations) but at the things which are not seen (physically with human eyes and reasoning)…” Psalm 119:18 “Open my eyes that I may see wondrous things from Your law.”

In the book of Genesis, Hagar the former maid of Sarah, Abraham’s wife was in a terrible situation, in which she was sorrowful, depressed and hopeless. Her son was dying and she didn’t know what to do about it, except that “she lifted her voice and wept”. But her son Ishmael, probably learnt from Abraham his father that he could pray to God, and that’s what he did, and see what happens; Genesis 21:17,19 “And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, and said to her, “what ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink.”

You see, God already provided the solution to her problem, but she didn’t ‘see’ it! The solution was waiting, even before the problem arose. But God heard the prayer of Ishmael, and what He just did was to open her eyes to see the solution He already provided! Remember, His divine power has given you all things that pertain to life and godliness!

Two Keys to Make Manifest Your Spiritual Blessings:

You must understand how to transfer your spiritual blessings to your physical world.

As said before, your blessings are spiritual and can affect your physical world. But there’s a process it must go through, and that process is called faith! The just shall live by faith (See Hebrews 10:38), for faith is the channel that connects heaven to earth, faith is the bridge between your spiritual blessings in the spiritual realm and your physical world!

1) BELIEVING God’s word and SPEAKING it

2 Corinthians 4:13 “And since we have the same spirit of faith according to what is written, ” I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.” Believe God’s word is to you and habitually declare it with your mouth. You are not in faith if you are not demonstrating it. You must demonstrate your faith by speaking God’s word and promises to you! In regards to faith, a silent mouth is a dormant faith! Faith is seeing what God has said about you or to you, and against contrary evidence, you hold on to it and keep speaking again and again! 2 Corinthians 1:20 “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”

2) BELIEVING and PRAISING

Yeah, that’s it. Praising God for the fulfilment of His word and promises in your life, for His accomplishments on your behalf, for that healing and deliverance, favour or breakthrough is in itself an act of faith!

It is written in Psalm 106:12 “Then they believed His words; they sang His praise.” You bring out your tambourine and begin to dance and praise the Lord when you really believe. You see, when you begin to do that habitually, you’re deliberately causing your spiritual blessings in Christ to manifest in your physical world! Thus you “release” your faith toward God.

When God sees you dancing and praising Him, His power is activated in your interest, causing what you’re praising Him for to manifest in your physical world! Don’t wait to see it with your physical eyes before you believe, speak or praise. Faith is the key you need to open that door leading to experiencing God’s spiritual blessings!

The Lord does honour faith, and He will honour your faith as you release it toward Him by believing His words, promises and accomplishments for you, and acknowledging them by speaking them and praising Him for their physical manifestation!

What about you? Have you ever felt like quitting? Have you ever felt like you were a grasshopper in the eyes of your giants? How did you feel when you decided to keep going until you saw your breakthroughs?
