How to Tap Into God’s Healing Power

God wants us to have the blessing of good health and long life. Jesus was beaten so we could be WHOLE! He was whipped so we could be HEALED! I believe in God’s power to heal, but how to tap into God’s healing power?

We all heard and read so many stories of God has promised in His word to heal you. You may find this hard to believe right now as you battle the disease or condition that has left you broken. Are you wondering if God’s Word on healing still applies to you? God is your Healer and if you stand in faith, you will see your healing manifest.

God has given you a wonderful promise of healing in Exodus 15:26, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

God was making it clear that living a righteous life would guarantee they would not face diseases that were a curse of the law. He was telling them that He was their Healer and showed them how to stay free of disease – obey His commands.

The Promise of Healing

Thank God that through Jesus Christ, He made you righteous, and diseases have no room in your body. Jesus redeemed you from diseases and became a curse for you that you don’t have to live under one. 

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) – Galatians 3:13

God has promised you healing because Jesus paid the price for you to be free of diseases for life. You already have victory over your disease in Jesus’ name. Healing is part of the salvation package. 

Instead of begging God to heal you, receive the healing He has already provided in Jesus. 

Gloria Copeland puts it simply, “Take it!” That is all you have to do to obtain your healing. She goes on to say that healing is no problem for the Lord. The hard part is getting people to believe what He has said about it so they can receive their healing. 

God healed you the day you got born again. You are not asking Him to heal you, but you are declaring His word to manifest healing in your body. 

God is Willing to Heal You

Settle it in your heart today that God is willing to heal you. Don’t feel unworthy of His healing because you are still suffering from the symptoms of your illness. You are worthy of His healing, and He has promised to keep you in good health. 3 John 1:2 gives you God’s promise of health, 

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Jesus healed all who came to Him (Matthew 12:15). He didn’t discriminate or condemn anyone as unworthy of healing. See yourself as one among the multitudes who come to Jesus daily for healing. He will heal you as He will heal all the others. 

A leper once approached Jesus for healing and said to him, “Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean” (Matthew 8:2). Jesus touched him and said, “I am willing; be cleansed” (Matthew 8:3). 

Joseph Prince points out an interesting thing about the healing of the leper. He says that he didn’t have a problem believing Jesus had the ability and power to heal him. He just wasn’t sure if Jesus was willing to do it for him.

Jesus is willing to heal you today, He’s not thinking about it.

The Role of Faith in Your Healing

God has blessed you with healing in the spiritual realm and by faith, you can manifest it into your body. Jesus has shown you the role of faith in appropriating your healing in the four Gospel books. Many times, He used the phrase, “Your faith has made you well” (Mark 5:34, 10:52).

Jesus is willing to heal you, but do you have the faith to receive it?

Jesus was wounded and died on the cross and purchased healing for you. If you understand that you already have the healing, you will have the faith to receive it.

Having the faith to receive your healing means you believe what God says in His word. Faith comes by hearing God’s word (Romans 10:17). Read and meditate on God’s word daily and especially Scriptures on healing. Listen to teachings on healing from Bible teachers and build up your faith. 

Whose Report Will You Believe?

Anytime you are sick, you have two reports that stare you in the face: the doctor’s report and God’s report. Which one will you believe? This is not a call to disregard the doctor’s report because it contains the facts about your disease or illness. But God’s word overrides facts any day because it is the truth. 

We thank God for surgeons who saved many lives, but whose report we put our faith in matters. Is it the doctor’s report or God’s Word report? Are we going to trust secular psychology or God’s counsel? 

God’s word is the final authority on your healing. 

Speaking God’s Word of Healing

You may be wondering how to access your healing if it is yours for the taking. The key lies in speaking God’s word over your body and the disease. Faith and words play a big role in your healing.

The disease that is afflicting you is an enemy to your body and has no right to be there (unless it is a result of sin). Even if it is due to sin, God promises forgiveness once you repent. 

God has already sent His word to heal you and today declare it by faith.  “He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.” – Psalm 107:20

God has issued His command of healing and wants you to speak it over your body. He is waiting for you to give voice to His written word and set in motion the manifestation of your healing.

Declare healing Scriptures daily till you see your healing manifest. 

You have victory over the disease that is afflicting your body. Speak to it by faith and command it to leave your body and believe it has gone.

Many times we fall into unbelief because we see nothing happening in the physical realm after declaring God’s word. The healing may be instantaneous or may take some time. Either way, believe you have been healed. 

How to Move the Disease Mountain OUT of Your Body

Jesus said in Mark 11:23, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

Speak to the disease mountain in your body and command it to leave in Jesus’ name. Jesus said we are to speak to the mountains that stand in the way of living the abundant life He came to give us.

The disease is not your portion and you must not accept it. Don’t own it, it’s not yours. 

The enemy wants you to keep declaring the disease is yours, but it’s not. I’m sure you have heard people say, or even you, “my diabetes,” “my high blood pressure,” or “my cancer.” It’s not yours! Your declaration ought to shift to “By the stripes of Christ I have been healed. Diabetes (or any other disease), you must leave my body right now in Jesus’ name.” 

You can speak about the disease without owning it. The only thing you own is healing. 

Pray for Yourself

Prayer is the way we access the Throne of Grace. It connects us to the Father and in His presence, we can tell Him what we want. Where you are suffering because of your disease, pray, and the prayer of faith will heal you (James 5:13). 

When you pray over your condition, you can overcome any unbelief you may have in your heart. Prayer makes you sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit as you trust God for healing. It is when you pray that God can show you if anything is hindering your healing. 

God is the Healer and He wants to direct you towards your healing. If your heart and life are centred on God, His Word, and His Spirit, you can rest assured that He will direct your path. 

In prayer, you make your healing declarations, seek God’s strength, get rid of unbelief, or ask for discernment. God will guide you on how to pray for your disease or illness so that you can pray with a specific end in mind. After you pray, listen to God’s answers because they will enlighten you. 

Dealing With the Enemy to Your Healing

You have an enemy that does not want you to get well. In fact, in some instances, he is the cause of your illness. In Luke 13:11, we see a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years and was bent over and could not walk straight. When Jesus healed her, the spirit left. 

God knows the cause of the disease, illness, or condition that people suffer from. The enemy likes to hide such information from you to make you lose faith when your healing doesn’t manifest. He feeds you lies which weaken your faith.

When you don’t understand God’s word on healing, the devil comes and steals it from your heart. This means it will not bear fruit and you will experience a hindrance to healing. 

When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. – Matthew 13:19

Meditate on God’s healing word until it becomes a revelation to you.

This way, you remove any doubts or unbelief that are in your heart.

Jesus has given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and overcome all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). You HAVE an authority and using your authority in Christ will defeat the enemy trying to hinder your healing. 

Healing Proclamation

God’s word is powerful and will deliver your healing if you believe it. Start with the proclamation below that contains healing Scriptures. Then look for healing verses in the Bible and begin to declare them over your body.

I declare that the Lord is my Healer and has already healed me in Christ. No weapon formed against my body will prosper, and I command this disease (illness or condition) to leave my body now in Jesus’ name. God has redeemed me from the hand of the enemy and therefore I remove his hand from my body.

I choose to renew my mind with God’s word on healing, and I will meditate on it day and night. I choose to think positive thoughts about my body, and I take captive all thoughts in my mind and make them obedient to Christ.

I declare that by the wounds of Christ, I am healed , and my healing will manifest in Jesus’ name. Amen.
