Prophetic Word for January and New Year 2021

This is a prophetic word for January 2021, focusing on the year of 2021.

Here we are, heading into 2021. And the question to ask ourselves is How are we going to enter the new year 2021? Are we going to enter the year with doubt and hopelessness or with repentance and hope?

We went through tough times. You might breath a sigh of relief and say, “At last, 2020 has gone.” You might expect a different year, less stressful than the previous ones, especially the last year. You might keep wondering about your future and would like to ask God questions. “Come to Me and I will Answer you, and will tell you about great and hidden things that you don’t know,” God says. (Jeremiah 33:3)

Here are some of His answers:

• Are you Overwhelmed with Grief?

Moses had the same feeling. In Psalm 90, which is called the Psalm of our Pilgrimage on earth, he said they had been overwhelmed with grief; and he asked God to come and overwhelm them with gladness. He prayed to replace their years of trouble with decades of delight. (Psalm 90:15)

The prayer of Moses resonates with our prayers for our future and the future of our children. “God, come and give us gladness in proportion to our former misery. Replace the evil years with good, with decades of delight. Not because we are good, Lord. But because You are a Good and Perfect Father, Who knows how to give great gifts to Your children!”

Times are changing, but the Lord never changes. He is still the same, faithful to His Word, kind and tenderhearted to those who don’t deserve it, and so patient with those who fail Him.

Maybe you are depressed, lonely, abandoned, considered insignificant and despised; bring to your mind that God is there with you, Who will never abandon you.

God’s Answer – Trust God for He is always with you!

• Are you Experiencing Emotional Abandonment?

Job went through the abandonment. He lost His children, all His possession. He could easily release his emotions through complaining, cursing, ranting, weeping, protesting, moaning, fuming, raging, disagreeing. But instead, He released his emotions through worship.

He blessed the Name of the Lord. (Job 1:21).

The book of Job is the oldest book in the Bible, probably written very close to 2000 B.C. Job did not have the Bible to read to inspire himself. He would not know spiritual warfare verses we are familiar with. One of them describes the devil as a roaring lion looking for someone to devour, and we must stand firm in the faith and resist him. (1 Peter 5:8-9). Job did not have that verse.

God’s Answer – Release your Emotions through Worship!

• Have You Encountered Opposition?

It is impossible to be faithful to Jesus Christ and not incur the opposition of the world.

– William Still

Job incurred that opposition, first of his wife, who said to curse God and die. I would not judge her. Maybe she struggled to see what Job went through and did not have anything else to offer him. She did not want him to suffer any longer. But it is not the perfect advice when things get hard and tough.

Not only Job encountered opposition from his wife, but also from his friends.

Great spirits have always encountered opposition from mediocre minds.

― Albert Einstein

When you read Job and his friends’ suggestions, or advice, it seemed like everything they said was all right, but it was not all right in the eyes of God. Self-righteousness is like filthy rags, the Bible says. (Isaiah 64:6)

Eliphaz spoke to Job using his own experiences or view of life. Bildad spoke using his family’s traditions. And Zophar made his own doctrines, and on those self-made doctrines, he accused Job of wickedness. Bear in mind, Job was the most righteous man on the face of the earth at that time. But Zophar said that Job’s punishment was too good for him. Or in other words, Job deserved more.

Have you got those kind of ‘friends’ around you, or in your life? Or have you made the same conclusions about yourself from your experiences of life, or from your traditions, or from your own doctrines?

God’s Answer – Trust what God says About You!

What will God do for you in 2021?

God will Calm the Storm - Sea and Lighthouse

1. God will Bring Answer in the Storm

Three of Job’s friends told Job God was disciplining him. Elihu said God was directing Him. Job thought God wanted to destroy him. But none of them were right in their answers. God’s Word is not grievous or burdensome. When they finished talking, God answered Job out of the whirlwind.

God spoke during a stormy, not a quiet time. Yes, things can get tough and difficult. We can’t predict the future or how 2021 would look like. What we know is only a partial part of what is to come. But during those challenging moments, God answers.

2. God will Give You Clarity

God answered Job, and He will answer you. In 2021, during the whirlwind, or stormy life, God is going to speak. We are coming into a time of clarity.

Maybe in previous years, you went through the same tough, challenging things Job went through, be it emotional, physical, financial, relational trauma. Whatever it was, the Lord will never leave you in the dark. He will come and enlighten your darkness. He will open the eyes of your heart like God opened the eyes of Job’s heart, and He saw God with his own eyes.

In Job 42:1-6, Job answered the Eternal One. He said, “I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me. You said, ‘Listen and I will speak! I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.’ I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”

Nowadays, we have so many books about God. We know the passages from the Bible by heart. We have heard about God and His marvelous deeds so many times. Job said he had heard about God before. But was that enough?

God does not want us to come with just knowledge. He wants us to experience what Job had experienced – to receive a revelation about God and ourselves.

3. God will Restore what You Lost

In the beginning of 2020, I said Joel 2 was our prophetic book for that time. In verse 25, God said, He will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts.

In the past years, you saw locust plague, epidemic, financial crisis. But the Lord will give us back what we lost, revive us, and restore us to life, abundant life in Christ. As the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before, God is going to do that for you. (Job 42:10,11)

4. God will Help You to Reach Your Full Potential in Christ

Do not take misery into 2021. Think about yourself as God would think about you.

In Christ, you are righteous, holy, loved, chosen, free of condemnation, complete in Him, sanctified, justified. You have been chosen before the foundation of the world, rescued from the kingdom of darkness, adopted into God’s family, brought into the Kingdom of the Son, and seated with Christ in the heavenly places.

Therefore, we do not fear, worry about tomorrow. But instead, we confess our sin in confidence that He forgives and purifies. We fix our eyes on Jesus, set our minds on things above, stand firm in faith, and declare God’s glorious wonders.

What to do When We do not See the Answers Immediately?

• Be Thankful to God

Do not bring self-pity into the new year, and the years to come. Do not be self-absorbed in unhappiness or your troubles. Leave a victim mentality, depression, gloominess behind and take cheerfulness, hopefulness, optimism, contentment, delight, gratification, thankfulness into 2021.

There are so many things we can be thankful for.

• Believe God No Matter what You See or Hear

Good people suffer many troubles, the Word says, but the Lord saves them from them ALL.

But even if He doesn’t, let us stand firm and never waver in believing God.

Three young men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, before being thrown into the burning fiery furnace told Nebuchadnezzar, “We want to make it clear to you, o king, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” (Daniel 3:18)

Trust God No Matter What!

• Remember, We are Pilgrims on this Earth!

The world should not be our main focus. We are passing through this life, from strength to strength and from glory to glory.

Let us trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on our own opinions or opinions of others. And may God lead us in every decision we make for 2021.

And I finish with the prayer of Moses.

May God rescue you with compassion, satisfy you with His kindness, overwhelm you with His gladness, replace your years of trouble with decades of delight! Amen.

Have a Blessed, Wonderful, Prosperous New Year!

Love ❤️,

Haly
